Private investigator seeks emails of Cobb officials, 2 citizens critical of Braves’ deal

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note:  The ongoing process of building the Braves new stadium continues to have issues.  Now ethic complaints are being filed against Tim Lee, a Cobb Chairman.  Atlanta Journal Constitution has been all over this story…

A private investor has filed an open records request seeking emails between Cobb County Commissioners Bob Ott and Lisa Cupid and two citizens who criticized the county’s deal to attract the Atlanta Braves. Ott was the only commissioner who voted against the county’s Nov. 2013 memorandum of understanding between the Braves and the county.

According to the Marietta Daily Journal, the request, filed by Scott Woodall of Kennesaw-based Woodall & Broome on Oct. 7, “asks for emails in the county and personal accounts of Ott, Cupid and county spokesman Robert Quigley to or from Tom Cheek, who filed an ethics complaint against Cobb Chairman Tim Lee, and Susan McCoy, who says she’s filed a complaint to the Securities and Exchange Commission asking the federal agency to investigate the deal which brought the Braves to the county.”

Atlanta Braves Attendance Hits a Decade-Long Low

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note:  Were we embarrassed as Atlanta Braves fans this season….well maybe…but we should of still went to support our team.  The Braves attendance was extremely low this season as the team completed their first losing record season since 2008.  The Braves finished with the 18th ranked MLB team in sales this season.

Ticket sales for 2014 hit a low not seen in a decade.

Less than 2.4 million fans came to Turner Field this season.

That’s about 2,400 less fans per game compared to last season’s total.

Chipper Jones

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note:  Now-a-days mostly everyone plays fantasy football…it’s almost has addicting and frustrating as golf but we still play.  Chipper Jones sounds like he had a rough Sunday afternoon with his fantasy team.
