Braves GM Position

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note:  I think this is a given now but on SiriusXM the Atlanta Braves President may have hinted that his first choice was going to be John Hart.  Pretty obvious since Hart was offered the position just hours after the firing of former GM Frank Wren.  My only take is why is it taking so long for Hart to decide?

Braves President John Schuerholz indicated to Jim Bowden of SiriusXM (on Twitter) the club’s first choice to be their full-time GM is John Hart; however, he will not force the timeline.

Predicting the 10 Best Left Fielders in 5 Years

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note:  Atlanta Braves were able to have a rising star on this list as Braxton Davidson made the cut at #7.  Though his rookie season didn’t go perfectly…slash line of .224/.387/.299…he’s still on track to be a great player.  The Braves selected Davidson back in June during the draft and at just 18-years-old, it will take some time until we see him in Atlanta.

1. Yasmani Tomas, TBD

Yasmani Tomas has an uppercut swing that supplies a ton of power, as you can see in the video above. The international free agent, who turns 24 in November, is about to cash in.

Fellow Cuban outfielder Rusney Castillo recently signed a seven-year, $72.5 million deal with the Boston Red Sox, and Tomas’ new contract could be worth even more. According to Peter Gammons, big league clubs “see more ceiling, more power” in Tomas than Castillo.
