Braves activate four from disabled list

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: Now that the 2014 season has come to a complete end, the Atlanta Braves removed four pitchers for the 60-day disabled list.  For Medlen and Beachy, they will be trying to come back from their second Tommy John surgery while Venters will be looking to return after his third.  TJ surgery usually takes at least 12 months to recover and Venters didn’t have his until August…his 2015 season will most likely be a wash.

"The Braves have activated four players from the 60-day disabled list Friday.Jonny Venters, Kris Medlen, Brandon Beachy and Cory Gearrin were all taken off the disabled list. All four players had Tommy John surgery during the year. Medlen, Beachy and Gearrin underwent the surgery in March or April. Venters had his third Tommy John in August."

After reshaping front office, Braves need to reshape roster

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note:  Just over one month since the 2014 season ended for the Atlanta Braves, we have already seen multiple moves within the front office and managerial staff.  The Braves are looking to get back to “The Braves Way” moving forward and feel as though they are getting the pieces in place for that to succeed.  Now, it’s time to start looking at the players on the field.

"But before the World Series ended, the Braves had already kept their pledge of reshaping the organization from top to bottom. Some of the moves are high profile in nature. John Hart was coaxed out of semi-retirement to replace Wren, although under the newly created title of President of Baseball Operations. Kevin Seitzer and Jose Castro replaced the hitting coach tandem of Greg Walker and Scott Fletcher. Former Houston Astros manager Bo Porter replaced Doug Dascenzo as third base coach. There were several more low profile moves, reshaping the scouting and player development departments, plus hiring respected baseball veterans Gordon Blakeney and Roy Clark as advisors to Hart and his presumed successor John Coppolella."

Braves stadium work going along to game plan

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note:  Each day we move closer and closer to the new Atlanta Braves stadium.  In 2017, fans will get the chance to walk into a new entertainment facility as well as go watch a baseball game.  This state of the art stadium will be one you don’t want to miss.  The SunTrust Park continues to stay on pace in the construction process.

"Construction of SunTrust Park is right on schedule, according to officials from Cobb County and the Atlanta Braves. The proposed $672 million Atlanta Braves stadium is set to open in March 2017, and Cobb Chairman Tim Lee said he is pleased with the way the deal is progressing.“Everything has worked exactly as we laid it out (and) as we thought it would, including the things like the appeal for the bonds,” Lee said. “We anticipated that happening, so still, everything is happening according to how we thought it would play out.”"
