Atlanta Braves’ Fans, Don’t Look At This Photo :(

When the news broke on Monday afternoon that Jason Heyward was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals I was very upset.  Personally, my favorite baseball player is now going to be playing for a team that most Braves’ fans can’t stand and secondly, it sounds like the Braves are rebuilding for the 2017 season.

Well time has now pasted and I’m starting to realize I can’t do anything about this trade or the business side of baseball (I wish I could).  The Braves no longer have Heyward and now have starting pitcher Shelby Miller.

Yes, the Braves bullpen has gotten better but offensively…they have not.  The piece of the puzzle that they struggled most with last year, their lineup, has gotten worse.

But something else that has risen since this trade is that the Braves may not be rebuilding and are in fact looking for the right pieces for their squad.  This is definitely reassuring as we head into the ladder part of the offseason.  Jon Lester is on the board and may take a pay decrease to come to Atlanta since he has an offseason home there.  The Braves will probably lose out on Lester but this shows that the Braves are willing to look for a deal for their 2015 team.

The realization is there now that JHey will not be wearing the Double-Duece for the Atlanta Braves but this still hurts inside when I see the photo he tweeted out this afternoon.
