Braves 2015 Winter Caravan Schedule

The Atlanta Braves schedule has been released!  We don’t know yet which players/coaches/alumni are going to which sites yet… and really, we’re still a bit fuzzy on just who is going to be with the organization all together, for that matter… but it’s the first look at where the Braves will be introducing themselves for 2015.

The Caravan trek begins on Tuesday, January 20th – just two weeks from tomorrow – and runs through the end of the month.

Here’s the Schedule

[table id=6 /]

  • *All times Eastern, EXCEPT the Alabama visits, which are in the Central Time Zone.
  • All stops are scheduled for 90 minutes.
  • Recommend that you arrive well ahead of the scheduled event time to insure that you get a chance to greet the participants

Typically, a Caravan stop will feature one or two “bigger name” players – more when closer to Atlanta – and 2-3 coaches, alumni, or AAA players.

For example, as you see from the photo above, my stop in Huntsville (yes, I’m aced out this year – nothing in North Alabama… *sigh*) included Craig Kimbrel, Aaron Northcraft, Gus Schlosser, and Christian Bethancourt.

But take a note of that list:  all four of these actually ended up in the majors – Northcraft getting a call-up for the very last day of the season.  So you never know whether even the “lesser” participants might end up being key contributors during the season.

The Braves’ PR crew arrives ahead of time to set up the venue, including tables with ticket sales, some merchandise, and the swag:  free bumper stickers, schedules, and a few more goodies here and there… often including Homer.

So bring your cameras, your baseballs, jerseys, and hats – along with a nice Sharpie.  The Caravan is warming up in the bullpen for 2015… and this year you might just need to figure out exactly who is coming!
