Atlanta Braves News: Morning Chop Hall of Fame Day

The big day has finally arrived for a memorable Hall of Fame class.  We will soon find out who will be joining the legends of our sports at 2pm ET (Tuesday).  You can catch all the news on MLB Network starting at 11am.

ESPN

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note:  The ESPN gang got together to fill out their ballots…the list is below of who all participated.  The group, if decided by them, put in six MLB players that included Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez – who both received 100% of the ESPN votes – Tim Raines, John Smoltz, Craig Biggio, and Mike Piazza.  On ESPN’s list, Fred McGriff received only 11.8% and I feel he’ll get close to that number with everyone’s vote.

"The eligible players needed at least 13 votes to garner 75 percent of ESPN’s total. If the ESPN ballot serves as any indication, Craig Biggio, Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, Mike Piazza, Tim Raines and John Smoltz will receive enough votes to be part of the Class of 2015.Listed in alphabetical order, here are the 17 ESPN voters who submitted ballots: Howard Bryant, Jim Caple, Jerry Crasnick, Gordon Edes, Pedro Gomez, Dan Graziano, Paul Gutierrez, Michael Knisley, Tim Kurkjian, Ian O’Connor, Peter Pascarelli, Nick Pietruszkiewicz, Brendan Roberts, Adam Rubin, Mark Saxon, Barry Stanton and Jayson Stark."

2015 Braves Country Caravan to stop in Spartanburg

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note:  Alan gave us the full run down of where the Atlanta Braves caravan will be stopping for the 2015 season yesterday.  Hopefully the “bus” will stop close to your city because this is a great event to stop in at.  The Braves players, coaches and personalities are available to sign autographs, chat baseball and hang out with kids (or big kids).  Check out Alan’s list to see where they’ll be stopping.

"With the 2015 Major League season quickly approaching, the Atlanta Braves are setting out into Braves Country for their seventh annual caravan, presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors. The caravan will make stops throughout the Southeast including Spartanburg on Jan. 21."

"The Braves Country Caravan gives fans the opportunity to interact with Braves players, coaches and broadcasters before the new season kicks off in April. Caravan stops will include autograph sessions at Academy Sports + Outdoors stores, community appearances, and private events with A List members."
