My Take: the Evan Gattis Trade

Since late July, I have been an advocate for the rebuild that the Atlanta Braves are now in the midst of performing.

But even in my wild dreams, I didn’t go nearly as far as John Hart has – with breathtaking pace and results.

Of course, my plan actually left the Braves with a functional offense  – retaining Jason Heyward and Evan Gattis.  That subject is going to be the one we most scrutinize for the season that’s still relentlessly approaching, though I can tell already that a common theme will be this:  “well, we couldn’t score last year when we had those guys, so we’re no worse off now.”
