Underdog To Make Atlanta Braves Roster?

I’ll tell you what…when the 2014 Atlanta Braves season ended, who would have thought this organization would make so many headlines.  After all the topics/trades/signings in the past few months, on the first day of full squad practice shortstop Andrelton Simmons says he has a strained oblique.  Next day news broke that (Melvin) B.J. Upton will be in a leg cast for two weeks and then a walking boot for 4-6 weeks.

With lots of negative news coming from Braves camp, it makes you wonder will any positive news ever happen?

Well, with the bad, good news can come from it.

Non-roster invitee, 24-year-old, Brady Feigl has a shot at making the team.  Braves beat writer David O’Brien said on Twitter Friday afternoon that Fiegl has impressed early on in Spring Training and has an opportunity to make the Braves roster.

The left-handed relief pitcher has never pitched above the A+ level but was a four-year pitcher at Mount St. Mary’s University.  His stats were decent in 2014 with a 3.02 ERA  and 1.112 WHIP.  With all the veteran relief pitchers that the Braves signed this offseason, I feel it would be a longshot for Feigl to make the opening day roster.
