Braves spring training could leave Disney World

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: John Schuerholz is planning on moving the Atlanta Braves Spring Training facility within the next few years.  The main reason is they are spending to much time on the road and in a bus instead of on the field training.  Major League Baseball teams are split between Florida and Arizona for their Spring Training homes.  Schuerholz has told the media he has no intentions of moving the team to the desert for the Spring months.  A move to the Tampa-St. Petersburg area is very possible for the Braves.

"The organization is in the midst of a “broad-based search” of potential spring training sites in Florida, team president John Schuerholz told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.The Braves have trained at Disney’s Wide World of Sports near Orlando since 1998 but have two primary concerns about extending their stay in the happiest place on earth.First, the existing facilities no longer measure up to those found at many other complexes around baseball. Second, and more importantly, they’re running out of neighbors."
