On Monday night, the Atlanta Braves had a private organization party that featured a rookie talent show and a concert by rapper, musician and songwriter Colt Ford.  Supposedly Braves President of Baseball Operations, John Hart, has a friendship with the performer.

We’ve seen photos and short videos from players from the other night but last night Atlanta’s pitcher Cody Martin posted a full video to vimeo.  There were four groups that performed on Monday night and the below video featured Mallex Smith.  He takes the lead on the song originally recorded by The Temptations “My Girl”.  Others in this video are Matt Kennelly, Jace Peterson, Phil Gosselin and Cedric Hunter.

If you have three minutes to watch some Braves prospects

have fun on the stage, click below.  No judging allowed though, this is strictly rookie hazing but with having fun and laughs instead of incriminating or wrongfully doing an action.

Braves pitching prospect Daniel Winkler posted a video of a different group that preformed at the rookie talent show.  This one shows a couple youngsters wearing uncomfortably short shorts and singing Garth Brooks.

Well, you’ve seen one complete performance and a glimpse of the other…what’s your take?  Braves shortstop Andrelton Simmons chimes in.

Not sure who were the judges the other night but a winner was chosen.  Whether he was the best on the stage or just put so much heart into it, the performance by Mallex Smith of “My Girl” just couldn’t be overlooked.
