The Atlanta Braves announced today that National Baseball Hall of Fame member Don Sutton has been elected to the Atlanta Braves Hall of Fame. Long time Braves broadcaster Don Sutton began serving as the Braves broadcaster in 1989. Sutton called games for the Braves until 2006. He called games for the Washington Nationals from 2007 until 2009. He rejoined the Braves broadcast team after the 2009 season.

Sutton, a 300+ game winner during his playing career, was elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1998. After retiring from baseball in 1988, he began as a broadcaster for the Braves in 1989.  The induction ceremony will be held at Turner Field later this summer before the July 20th game against none other than the Dodgers. The Dodgers are the team Sutton is most commonly associated with. This will be a wonderful night for not just Braves fans, and the Sutton family, but also, maybe a few Dodger followers.

Don Sutton has been a part of everything we as Braves fans hold dear. The worst-to-first season of 1991. The string of 14 consecutive division titles, spanning from 1991 to 2005. And the coveted World Series Championship of 1995!

From all of us here at Tomahawk Take, we would like to congratulate Mr. Sutton on his Atlanta Braves Hall of Fame induction.
