Atlanta Braves Pitcher Brady Feigl Gives Update On Tommy John Injury

On April 22, 2015 Atlanta Braves relief pitcher Brady Feigl had Tommy John surgery to repair his throwing left pitching elbow.  Feigl was working his way up to the majors during the time of the injury.  He was currently pitching with the Braves Triple-A affiliate, the Gwinnett Braves.

The 24-year-old southpaw made a tremendous splash with the Braves front office during the 2015 Spring Training, but after having “elbow discomfort” during a game with the Gwinnett Braves, Feigl’s season ended.

Feigl is known within the Braves fan base as an “underdog” and a “success story that almost happened.”  Through his passion and eagerness to get back on the field, this story will continue.

More from Tomahawk Take

He’s a native from Severn, Maryland and attended Old Mill High School in Millersville, MD.  After not being heavily recruited out of HS, he attended Mount St. Mary’s University in Maryland.  The Braves noticed this young lefty and signed him in 2014.

In 2014, he started with the Rome Braves in Single-A and jumped up to the Lynchburg Braves A+ about midseason.  After a great Spring Training, the Braves sent him to the Triple-A affiliate Gwinnett Braves.  Huge jump because he’s impressing the right people.

He only got through two outs in 2015 before being shutdown.  He had two walks, a base hit, and two outs and then the injury happened.

Though Feigl wasn’t with the Braves when the season started, he possible could be right now if the injury didn’t happen.  The way Atlanta’s bullpen is going this season, they could use any help they can get….especially him being a lefty.

On the road to recovery, Feigl posted an update today with photo on Instagram

I asked Brady when the rehab begins for him and it sounds like it’s very soon…
