It has been a long time since we’ve seen repeated dominant pitching performances, and that’s exactly what we’ve been seeing from Shelby Miller so far this season.
In looking through his game logs, I’m trying to figure out which of his eight starts has been the worst so far. On three occasions, he’s given up 2 earned runs. In one of those games, a third run scored, but he also struck out 9 hitters, his highest rate for the year (vs. Cincinnati, only game tagged for a loss). At most, he’s given up 5 hits (in 6 innings). At most, he’s walked 3 (the same Toronto game). But he got the win in that game, too. There really hasn’t been a bad one yet.
