Outfielder Joey Terdoslavich had the chance of making the Atlanta Braves 2015 Opening Day roster out of Spring Training, but an injury to his left wrist caused a major setback.  A little over a month after the injury happened Terdoslavich is making his way back towards wearing an Atlanta Braves jersey.

For the past week, he’s been rehabbing – started at the Rome Braves (three games), then moved to the Carolina Mudcats (five games).  Now, he’s off to the Double-A Mississippi Braves to continue his trip up the latter.

The wrist injury happened while he was playing first base in Spring Training against the St. Louis Cardinals on March 21st. He rolled on it while tagging Dean Anna to complete an unassisted double play.  Terdoslavich was hoping the injury wasn’t to series and tried to avoid the disabled list, but the strain was too severe.

After hanging out in the training room for a few days and receiving a cortisone injection on March 30, the Braves placed Terdoslavich on the disabled list on April 2nd.

The play was a great one, but the injury was a major blow for Terdoslavich.  Here is the video of both the play and the injury.

The 26-year-old was competing with Kelly Johnson during the 2015 Spring Training for a utility spot on the Braves roster.  With Johnson now on the disabled list and recent struggles from Todd Cunningham, a door could be open for Terdoslavich.

In his eight games back, he’s hitting .308/.387/.423 with three doubles, four RBIs, two runs and three walks.

Terdoslavich can play both left and right field for the Braves as well as first base.  He was given an opportunity to prove himself in Atlanta in both 2013 and 2014.  He had more success in 2014 then in 2013 when he had three hits in 10 at bats with two doubles.  This all came in the final month of the season.

If he continues to play well and prove himself with these minor league affiliates, we could see him wearing an Atlanta uniform possible in mid to late June.
