Atlanta Braves Call Up Kelly Johnson, Send Joey Terdoslavich To Triple-A Gwinnett
By Jeff Schafer
Hours after being the hero of the night on Tuesday, Joey Terdoslavich has been sent back down to Triple-A Gwinnett and the Atlanta Braves promote outfielder Kelly Johnson back to the big leagues.
Johnson has been recovering from an oblique injury which kept him sidelined since May 13. Before the injury happened, Johnson was a surprise performer for the Braves in 2015. He had a slash line of .259/.310/.519 with six home runs and 18 runs batted in 28 games.
It only took Johnson two games in Gwinnett before getting the call to come back to Atlanta. He had seven plate appearances with only one hit.
I’m not a fan of this move by the Braves

Terdoslavich, though his homer was his only hit so far in 2015 (four plate appearances), I thought he would stay in Atlanta and help the Braves off the bench and the occasional start.
Will he be a star in the majors? No.
Is he a AAAA player? Yes.
But the 26-year-old has proven himself in Gwinnett and I feel it’s time for him to be given the chance in Atlanta. He played well during Spring Training and probably could have made the team if he didn’t injure his wrist in a late May ST game.
Personally, I think Todd Cunningham should have been sent down. He started off hot when he came up when Johnson got injured (May 15). But pitchers figured him out quickly and he has cooled off since then. He has a slash line of .250/.314/.313 in 2015 for Atlanta and has played a consistent, solid outfield.
Cunningham is also 26-years-old, has proven himself in the minors, and a AAAA player.
Terdoslavich and Cunningham are pretty similar with talents, but I wanted to see JoeyT stay with the ball club when Johnson was promoted.
What do yal think?
