By Jeff Schafer
Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: Atlanta Braves starter, Mike Foltynewicz, gave up five runs in his 5.2 innings pitched on Tuesday and put his team down 5-0, but the offense was able to battle him out of that deficit. The Braves scored five runs in the bottom of the 5th inning off San Diego’s starter James Shields, who was cruising through the game before this. Jace Peterson and Andrelton Simmons each had two hits, while Nick Markakis had three hits. Simmons however had three RBI’s and a critical run scored when he slide passed the catchers tag at home plate.

Terdoslavich’s first career home run carries Atlanta Braves to 6-5 win
Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: The Atlanta Braves pulled off the victory on Tuesday evening with a comeback victory. Could this be what the Braves need to kick-start the season? Possibly, they are that kind of team…meaning they play off emotion and some motivation. Terdoslavich was the hero on Tuesday with the 8th inning homer to put the Braves ahead. Also some very close plays at the plate in the 6th inning off Padres starter James Shields. This is the inning the Braves scored five runs to tie the game. The game was a nail bitter all the way to the end as Jason Grilli gave up a double and had a wild pitch, but left the runner at third base and picked up a save.
"Joey Terdoslavich led off the eighth inning with his first career home run and the Atlanta Braves rallied from a five-run deficit against James Shields to beat the San Diego Padres 6-5 on Tuesday night.Terdoslavich, pinch-hitting in only his fourth at-bat of the season, drove a pitch from Joaquin Benoit (4-3) over the fence in right-center field. The Braves trailed 5-0 before scoring five runs in the sixth off Shields. There were three reviews of calls at the plate — each decided in favor of Atlanta."
JC’s Ryan Clark drafted by the Atlanta Braves
Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: The Atlanta Braves selected right-handed pitcher Ryan Clark with the 150th overall pick in the 5th round on Tuesday afternoon. He recently finished his junior season at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where he had a 15-13 record with a 3.62 ERA in his career there and was selected to the second-team All-Southern Conference after his junior year. “It was one of those teams that I was like, ‘This is one of the teams I want to be drafted by,'” Clark said of his visit to Atlanta.
"Clark, a 6-foot-5 right-handed pitcher, watched the first two days of the draft at home with a group of about 10 friends and family members. Before he was selected, Clark received a call from a Braves scout named Bill Best asking if he’d sign if they picked him with their next pick. Clark said yes.“Even with that being said you don’t really know for sure that you’re going to get picked,” Clark said. “So we were just sitting there hoping. One fifty came up, which happened to be the Braves pick, and I heard my name and it just kind of went into chaos in my house. People were yelling. People were screaming. People were crying. It was just an exciting time. It was a mix of emotion from everyone.”"
