Atlanta Braves News: The Morning Chop, Box Score and Chipper Jones Gets Married

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: Great game one win by the Atlanta Braves over the Boston Redsox. It’s something the Braves weren’t able to do in 2014, defeat the Sox. Williams Perez is getting much praise today after pitching very well against an AL team at Fenway Park. Jonny Gomes got the start in LF versus his old team, but wasn’t able to get a hit. He went 0-3 with a walk. Gomes did have a tremendous catch in left field when he dove full out towards the left field line and made the catch. If you missed the game, has anyone told you about the Freddie Freeman stolen base? He got a great jump and stole second!

A.J. Pierzynski of the Atlanta Braves admits to drinking before and during games
Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: If you haven’t seen this yet, here it is. Recently, Braves catcher A.J. Pierzynski joined Fox Sports 1’s Katie Nolan on her new TV show. In this they talked about “rally beers” and how Pierzynski has drank before and after games. Was he being serious in this interview? I think to a point, but he was probably more joking than being serious and was just carrying on with the joke.
"The veteran Atlanta Braves catcher prefers the harder stuff, admitting on American comedy program Garbage Time with Katie Nolan that he has had beers during a game and played drunk or hungover more than once in his illustrious career.“I’m not going to lie, I’ve had drinks before and during a game,” said Pierzynski.“I’ve played games drunk, or maybe not drunk, hungover."
