Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: The Atlanta Braves win! The Atlanta Braves win!! If you haven’t looked yet, check below at the Braves bullpen stats…yes, that’s correct, only three hits in three innings pitched, zero runs and ZERO WALKS!!  I also don’t think we’ve given credit in a while to Kevin Seitzer because he’s done some magic to Andrelton Simmons.  After a 4-4 night at the plate, he’s now hitting .279 for the season.  If I’m not mistaken, with the stats he’s putting up at the plate and being the best defensive shortstop in the game, he could be making his first All-Star game.

Braves win 6-4

Mets and Atlanta Braves are wearing these uniforms to honor the Negro Leagues (PHOTOS)

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: The Atlanta Braves and New York Mets wore these throwback uniforms on Saturday afternoon to honor the Negro Leagues.  The Braves defeated the Mets in game 2, 6-4.  Behind the pitching of Williams Perez and great hitting by A.J. Pierzynski and Andrelton Simmons, the Braves are now 2 games out of the NL East divisional lead and 3.5 games out of the Wildcard.  The Braves are currently 34-35 in the 2015 season and look to get back to .500 on Sunday.

BRAVES GET ANOTHER YOUNG PITCHING PROSPECT

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: The trade that shocked the world happened on Saturday night as the Braves’ John Hart somehow talked the Arizona Diamonbacks into this trade.  Phil Gosselin is a solid infielder and the Dbacks might see a very high ceiling in him.  Braves receive another Tommy John pitcher and a very talented young pitcher in Touki Toussant.  For more on this trade, check out Brandon’s review.

"The reaction from Twitter said it all. MLB.com’s Jim Callis called it “the most inexplicable trade I’ve ever seen,” while Baseball America’s Ben Badler suggested the FBI “investigate the Braves next.” And ESPN’s Keith Law repeatedly wrote HA on his twitter feed when the trade went down.Analysts could not believe nor understand why the Diamondbacks would give Atlanta a top pitching prospect just to sell of a veteran pitcher and get only a utility infielder in return.Arroyo is coming back from Tommy John surgery. Some believe he could be ready by early-August to rejoin Atlanta. It’s unclear obviously if Arroyo would fit in the bullpen or rotation if he returns. Reports had him recently slowing down his recovery due to more elbow tenderness."

Happy Father’s Day!!
