The following are captions from the winner of the Atlanta Braves representative for the Esurance MLB All Star Fanfare Sweepstakes Christie Lysdale.

Christie and Karen are now in Cincy and they are enjoying every moment of the events of each day, representing the Braves WELL.

The following are her words in reference to their experiences thus far (some edits by me):

We got up Sunday morning and it was pouring rain (she thought animals were starting to line up 2 by 2), so they had to quickly arrange to get vehicles to take us to the fan fest and the Legends Breakfast (since none of us packed ponchos or brought an ark with us).

Heidi Watney (she is so hot, I said that not Christie) from MLB Network was the host.

The organizers had the tables set up already for us. We had to find our places by looking for our team’s name on these cute little tiny helmets. There were also socks with our names on them.

Johnny Bench and Joe Morgan was the announced special guest.

We didn’t get to ask them questions, though. Heidi did that. They both concurred that there would never be another dynasty like they had. Morgan says it is because there is too much individuality in the game. Players are too concerned with making a highlight reel than focusing more on a team effort.

He also said that we try to attach greatness to a player before they earn that accolade. He used Bryce Harper as an example (cosign) and proceeded to say that he thinks Harper will be a great player one day, but he isn’t yet. “Too much inconsistency” he stated.

He also doesn’t like the fact that we have players on the All-Star team that he feels doesn’t deserve to be there yet. He referenced the fact that we have a player hitting .230 on the All-Star team and I knew who he was talking about (names have been hidden to protect the guilty).

They talked about the fact that they had four leaders on their team. Johnny for the white guys, Joe for the black guys, Tony Perez for the Latinos and of course Sparky. Also, Anderson always discussed trading players with them because they knew what kind of personality would fit their team dynamics.
