Chipper Jones Wears An Atlanta Braves Uniform Again and Homers Twice!!

The 6th Annual Alumni weekend is currently underway (August 7-9) for the Atlanta Braves.  Over 50 former Braves players and coaches were scheduled to make an appearance throughout the weekend as the Braves took on the Miami Marlins.

MLB Hall of Famers Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, Bobby Cox, and John Smoltz led the group of legends back through the gates at Turner Field.  Chipper Jones, Steve Avery, Ron Gant, Marcus Giles, Marquis Grissom, Andruw Jones, David Justice, Ryan Klesko, Javy Lopez, Fred McGriff, and Mark Wohlers all came out to relive some great memories and share smiles with the fans.

The Braves always do their best to show their support to the fans so the Alumni weekend is no different.  They plan out a three-day schedule full of fan engagement activities.

Friday, autograph stations were set up throughout the ballpark prior to the game and they had a special pregame ceremony to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the 1995 World Series Championship team.

Saturday, the Braves alumni took batting practice on the field.  Then had team introductions for Braves Legends softball game.  The two teams…the 1995 Alumni Team vs. Alumni Legends Team.  Also, the first 20,000 fans received replica 1995 World Series rings.

Sunday, more Braves alumni will be at the field to meet and take photos with fans.

The Braves alumni softball game was another great performance by your favorite Braves greats.  One name that is definitely familiar to us all was the game’s MVP.

Chipper Jones won the Braves Alumni softball game MVP award as he had two home runs and helped the 1995 World Series team win the game.
