By Jeff Schafer
Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: The Atlanta Braves defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday evening 3-2. Julio Teheran was on the mound for the Braves and guess what? They were in Atlanta…so of course he had a good start. Teheran pitched six innings, gave up three hits, one run, two walks and had seven strikeouts. Arodys Vizcaino picked up his third save of the season. Cameron Maybin led the team offensively as he had two RBIs and two hits.

Braves add veteran Edwin Jackson to bullpen
Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: Edwin Jackson becomes the Braves 28th different relief pitcher in 2015. The revolving door continues as Atlanta looks to find the right pieces for the future of the organization. Atlanta’s bullpen ranks 28th in the MLB in ERA with a 4.24 in 2015. Good stuff, eh?
"Jackson, 31, replaces struggling rookie reliever Ryan Kelly, who was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett, on the 25-man roster and is expected to be available for Atlanta’s series opener against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday night.A longtime starter in both the American and National Leagues, Jackson transitioned to a relief role with the Chicago Cubsthis season, posting a 3.19 ERA in 31 innings pitched. Jackson, who went to high school in nearby Columbus, Ga., was released by Chicago in late July and is still owed the remainder of his four-year, $52 million deal that runs through the 2016 season –€” a debt for which the Cubs are responsible."
Hector Olivera to play with the Rome Braves on Sunday
Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: At least something for Braves fans to get excited about…recently acquired infielder, Hector Olivera, is expected to play for the Rome Braves on Sunday. He’s been sidelined for about a month with a hamstring injury and has been working with Braves officials in Florida after being traded from the Dodgers.
"Hector Olivera is expected to join the Rome Braves on Sunday when the team takes on the Lexington Legends at State Mutual Stadium at 2 p.m. (gates open at 1 p.m.).On July 30th, the Atlanta Braves acquired Olivera from Los Angeles as part of a three-team trade that included former Rome Braves players Alex Wood and Jose Peraza, along with Jim Johnson and Bronson Arroyo."
