Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: The Atlanta Braves were able to take down one of the best teams in the MLB on Tuesday evening with a walk-off single by Andrelton Simmons.  Julio Teheran pitched well enough to keep the Braves in the game (very well if you’re comparing to Teheran’s 2015 season) and the Braves offense put up 10 hits and scored just enough to win!  The Braves sit now at 57-88 while the Blue Jays are 82-62

Braves win 3-2

Simmons’ breaks tie in 9th, Braves finally win at home

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: The Braves win, Da Braves win!! If you’re not still watching Braves games this season, you missed a pretty good game last night against one of the best teams in baseball.  The Braves defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 3-2 with a walk-off hit by Simmons.  Todd Cunningham crossed the plate and Braves teammates and the few thousand fans that were at Turner Field celebrated.

"For the first time in three weeks, the Atlanta Braves celebrated a home victory.”We’ve been struggling to get wins lately,” shortstop Andrelton Simmons said. ”We’ve been playing better, but getting the win is pretty big.”Simmons’ tiebreaking RBI single in the ninth inning snapped a 12-game home losing streak and Atlanta beat the AL East-leading Toronto Blue Jays 3-2 on Tuesday night."

MLB announces new year-end awards, including fan voting

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: MLB is working towards letting the regular fan be more interactive voice within the sport.  Announced yesterday, the MLB will add additional post-season awards to players mostly based on how fans vote.  These “new” awards are rumored to be like the “American Idol”-ization of fan involvement.

"Dubbed the Esurance MLB Awards, the new slate of winners will be announced during a made-for-TV awards show event to air on MLB Network on Nov. 20, a perfect time given current, baseball-related programming is at its lowest. The new awards are inspired and built upon the MLB Network’s GIBBY awards, which were launched in 2010, and are described as follows, per a release (via Hardball Talk):Featuring 24 award categories, supplemental to the traditional awards and built in part from the MLB.com GIBBY Awards and the MLB Network Social Media Awards, the 2015 Esurance MLB Awards include such performance-based categories as Best Major Leaguer, Best Bounceback Player and Best Breakout Player. The awards also feature a number of categories outside the field of play, such as Best Social Media Personality, Best Fan Catch, Best Video Board Moment, Best Interview and Best Celebrity Fan. Fans can vote exclusively at MLB.com/awards and the 30 Club websites across computers, smartphones and tablets."
