Photos: Atlanta Braves Rookies Dress Up In Ridiculously Funny Outfits
By Jeff Schafer
The annual Rookie Dress Up day has returned for the Atlanta Braves and it’s come with a few hilarious photos.
On their trip up north to face off against the New York Mets in a three-game series, the Braves veterans choose some pretty ridiculous outfits for their teammates to wear.
Yes, a three-game series that the Braves have already won a game and looking to win the series tonight!

Swimming was the theme of the attire for the rookies – they went with tank tops, speedos and arm band floaties. A few players wore “Witness the Fitness” tank tops while the others rocked the American Flag on their tanks.
These festivities usually go something like this: just before a road trip, the veterans on MLB teams select some suitable, or less than, outfits for the rookies to don. These rookies are required to wear this chosen costumes in the locker room for photos, leaving the stadium and often through the airport…since the road trip was in New York, these Braves rookies had to walk around New York City!
I will say, these pictures can be quite disturbing so make sure you laugh and then carry on!
This is the “team picture”. Thank you Daniel Winkler for posting…
Matt Wisler and Jace Peterson posed for a picture in their “outfits”…
Christian Bethancourt was nice enough for post a couple photos of the events…
And Todd Cunningham was so confident in his tucked in tank top that he posed alone for a shot…
If you recall, this isn’t the first time the Braves went with this theme…
Yes, that is Christian Bethancourt in this one as well, maybe he just wanted to dress up again.
And then this happened in 2009 with Kris Medlen and Tommy Hanson
