Could The Atlanta Braves Suffer Another Horrible September In 2016?

In Recent Months, September Has Been An Awful Month for the Atlanta Braves…Will 2016 Be The Same?

What a way to have their schedule for the month of September for the Atlanta Braves. You could easily make the argument that September is when the Braves play all of their divisional games, as twenty-five of their twenty-seven games are against NL East opponents.

Starting out, the Braves finish up their series with a single game against the Padres at Turner Field. A victory for the Braves and they start the month 1-0.

Now the Braves start their divisional matchups for the month, traveling to Philadelphia to face the Phillies for three games. The Braves will take two of three and move to 3-1 on the month.

Next is a trip down to face the Washington Nationals for three games. All is going to be dependent on if the Nationals have fully tanked yet (and what the Braves will be doing in 2016), or not, but I’m predicting the Braves take two games. For the month, 5-2.

An off day follows before the Braves return home to Turner Field for three games against the Mets. Unfortunately, the Braves will be swept and now sit at .500 for the month.

Welcoming the Marlins to Turner Field for three games allows for the Braves to have a sweep of their own over the Marlins, moving to 8-5 for the month.

An off day while at home allows for the Nationals to now come to Turner Field for three games. The Braves take two of three and are now 10-6 for September.

The Braves travel to New York to take on the Mets for three games and once again, the Mets will be too much and sweep the Braves, but the Braves still sit above .500 at 10-9 for the month.

The Marlins welcome the Braves for four games, of which the Braves will take three of the four. For the month, the Braves will be 13-10.

Another off day lets the Braves travel back to Turner Field, where they will welcome the Phillies for three games. The Braves will take two of three and are now 15-11 for the month.

The last day of the month has the Braves welcoming the Detroit Tigers to Turner Field, but the Braves will lose at home.

For the month of September, the Braves will finish 15-12.
