The Atlanta Braves are four games into their 2016 Spring Training and while many news will come before the season, no news is as important for Freddie Freeman than what his wife posted on social media on Friday afternoon.

Chelsea Freeman, Freddie’s wife, announced to the world that “Baby Free” is on it’s way!  As you’ll see in the below photo, September 17, 2016 is the expected date of arrival.

This will be the young couples first child as they got married back in 2014.

Congratulations to this lovely pair!

Freeman has played in two games so far for the Braves in 2016 and has gone 2-3 at the plate with a home run and a ground-rule double.  Not a bad start for a guy who came into the Wild World of Sports complex saying he’s going to take it slow and may not be on the same pages as the other positional players.

The 26-year-old is coming off his worst season in 2015 mainly enlarge part to the injuries he was dealing with for the majority of the season.  He suffered a wrist injury in June that continues throughout the season and an oblique injury towards the end of the season.  Freeman only played in 118 games in 2016…before last year, his lowest total of games played in during his five year career was 147.

The Braves won’t overwork Freddie early in Spring Training, but it’s been a great sight to see him on the field already.  Without a setback, expect Freddie to be in the lineup on Opening Day for the Braves without any hesitation.  He’s told reporters he’d like to play all 162 games in 2016…hopefully this is the case because without Freeman, the Braves’ lineup is incredibly weak.
