The Braves Might Have a Problem in Right

All the news this spring can be broken down into just a handful of categories.

While all that was going on another situation is quietly causing concern; what happened to Nick Markakis’ bat?

Markakis at the Bat

Markakis was the steadiest of bats for the Braves in 2015 finishing the season with a .296/.370/.376/.746 line that included 181 hits and 70 walks with just 83 strikeouts while playing in 156 games. This spring however he’s had trouble connecting with any kind of consistency. He started pretty well going 5 for 16 in the first seven games played including a home run in the third game that generated stories about the return of his power stroke.  Since that time however the results have been very un-Markakis like.
