Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: This one stings a little bit more than the other losses this season for some reason.  The St. Louis Cardinals poured it onto the Atlanta Braves Saturday night as they put two runs in the 2nd inning and never left off the gas pedal.  The Cards had 14 hits compared to the Braves four.  BUT HEY! They tied in errors…both team had three!  That counts for something, right????  After the loss on Saturday, the Braves are now 0-4 and the Cards are 2-3.

Patience required to watch Atlanta Braves

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: Patience, that’s a good word to use.  We’ll all need that this season to deal with the play on the field from the Atlanta Braves.  Just wait, that’s a good phrase.  If you’re keeping up with the minor leagues, the Braves top prospects have already been on display.  Mallex Smith started out at the plate, Ozzie Albies the same, Lucas Sims k’ed nine in his first start, Mike Soroka struck out seven in his first start, etc.  The “Young Braves Part 2” is on their way, we’ll just have to use “patience” until we see them.

"The Atlanta Braves have started slowly, and no one seems real surprised. It’s only a handful of games, so there’s no cause to panic. But it also might give us reason to prepare for what might be a long summer of Braves baseball. It’s OK. Truthfully, it’s OK for Braves fans to be frustrated at what might happen if this team struggles. It’s OK to swear you’re done and you’ll never watch them again. It’s OK to say those things we might not mean when things aren’t going like we want. That’s what fans do. But this fan base simply needs to grin and bear it. They need to know that no matter how bad it gets now, the future is still bright."

Molina’s pep talk pays off as Cardinals clobber Braves

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: Damnit Yadier Molina and your “pep talk”.  You ruined everything with only a few words.  Many are playing the ‘what if’ game early in 2016 for the Braves because of the play on the field and the few plays that could have gone the other way.  The Braves are now 0-4 and are in a group of only two teams that haven’t one a game yet this season…the other the Minnesota Twins who are 0-5.

"Down 3-0, the Braves had edged back into the fray on a single by Erick Aybar, a wild pitch, a run-scoring double by Nick Markakis and a run-scoring single by Freddie Freeman. Two of the hits had been bloopers. But Molina called time, started for the mound and met Martinez — who had taken a couple of steps off the dirt. The eight-time Gold Glover put an arm around Martinez, turned to get in front of him to make a point and then put an arm around Martinez again.Molina said he didn’t really remember what he said. Martinez, through a translator, said Molina told him, “Don’t lose your concentration.”"
