Braves and Twins Are 0-9…Who Will Win A Game First?

The Atlanta Braves and the Minnesota Twins both started the 2016 season in the complete opposite direction of what they wanted to.  The Twins have the talent to be a playoff team and the Braves are, well the Braves.

In 2015, the Braves were one of the worst teams in the MLB and the Twins just missed the playoffs.  Minnesota won 83 games in 2015 and were primed to contest the 2015 World Series champions the Kansas City Royals in 2016.

As we sit on April 15, the Braves and Twins are both 0-9 for the season.  The Twins probably have enough time to rebound after their rough start.  Minnesota will be taking on the LA Angels in a three-game series starting tonight.  The Braves will take on the Miami Marlins in their weekend series.

Who will win first?  That’s debatable, but the guys at 120 Sports take a stab at it…

The Twins have faced the Baltimore Orioles, Kansas City Royals and the Chicago White Sox

The Braves have face the Washington Nationals and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Will one of these winless teams win on Jackie Robinson Day?  I actually think they do and it could be the Braves.  Marlins pitcher tonight is Wei-Yin Chen who the Braves have only faced once in his five-year career back in 2012.  Braves will send Williams Perez to the bump for tonight’s game.

Though the Twins have a pretty complete lineup, they will face Garrett Richards tonight.  The teams will play their three-game series at Target Field.  Minnesota will send left-hander Tommy Milone to the mound.

Braves lineup

  1. Nick Markakis RF
  2. Daniel Castro SS
  3. Freddie Freeman 1B
  4. Adonis Garcia 3B
  5. Gordon Beckham 2B
  6. Jeff Francoeur LF
  7. Tyler Flowers
  8. Drew Stubbs
  9. Williams Perez

This Braves team can beat the Marlins and I think it happens tonight.  The Twins also can beat the Angels, but I don’t think it happens tonight.  They will win at least one this weekend.

What’s your take?  Braves win first or the Twins?
