Atlanta Braves Made A Roster Move But Does It Mean Anything?

The Atlanta Braves made a roster move earlier in the week when according to the Braves transactions page they outrighted Danny Burawa off the 40 man roster and demoted him to AA Mississippi.

The Braves grabbed Burawa off waivers from the Yankees last August and he appeared in 12 games for Atlanta in September and October posting a 3.65 ERA and 0.976 WHIP in 12 1/3 IP.

This year at Gwinnett wasn’t so good as her appeared in seven games throwing seven innings walking 11 and striking out 5 while posting a 5.14 ERA and a 2.714 WHIP.

As I noted before we knew about this move last night, the roster is heavily loaded with pitchers making it impossible to replace an everyday player without making a move. Outrighting Burawa opens a roster spot and may indicate the Braves may be getting ready to add someone to those eligible to come up if needed.

Here’s a list of players on the 40 man roster right now.
