The Atlanta Braves are set to activate INF Gordon Beckham from the disabled list on Tuesday, according to David O’Brien of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.  OF Matt Tuiasosopo will be designated for assignment to make room on the 25 man roster.

Beckham had been off to a solid start to his Atlanta Braves career, slashing .280/.357/.360 in his first 10 games, spanning 28 plate appearances, before pulling his hamstring.  The former Georgia Bulldog figures to receive the bulk of the playing time at second base for now, as he was more than platooning with the recently demoted Jace Peterson before the injury.

Tuiasosopo was without a hit in his 3 plate appearances in his short Braves career.  The outfielder turns 30 years old today, so that had to be a terrible birthday present.  Tuiasosopo has now appeared over 5 major league seasons dating back to 2008, and owns a .206/.288/.353 line over his career.  As a depth piece, the Braves have a decent shot of retaining him.
