Will The Braves Have The Guts to Trade Markakis?

The Atlanta Braves are off to a historically disastrous start, much like anyone who had taken a peek at the schedule could have predicted.

Manager Fredi Gonzalez may be on the verge of being unemployed, Freddie Freeman is only just now coming around at the plate, and many others that were thought to be an asset offensively (Ender Inciarte, Erick Aybar, Adonis Garcia) have been underwhelming, absent, or just flat out awful.  Then there is Nick Markakis.

Although it is not saying much at all, Nick Markakis has been the Braves best hitter by far. He owns a .294/.395/.394 line with 11 doubles. He is a month into the second year of his four year, $44M pact.  So there’s no reason to trade him… right?
