Atlanta Braves News: The Morning Chop, Box Score, Jim Harbaugh
By Jeff Schafer
Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: One inning! That’s what stood between the Atlanta Braves winning the series against the San Francisco Giants. That and a few runs, but we want harp on that. Still, the Braves took two out of four games against arguably the best team in the MLB (third best record currently behind the Chicago Cubs and the Washington Nationals). Braves totaled four hits in the game – all came against Bumgarner, but weren’t able to score early when they had the opportunities. Atlanta is now 16-37 for the 2016 season and will now head out to LA to take on the Dodgers.
Braves lose 6-0

Giants’ Bumgarner, Posey lead 6-0 victory over Atlanta Braves
Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: Were you stuck at work yesterday and weren’t able to watch the afternoon game? Well, you missed a 5th inning that had a collapse from Aaron Blair and three home runs from the Giants. San Fran’s starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner hit his second home run of 2016 and his 11th in his last 190 plate appearances. Ace of MLB Stats (@theaceofspaeder) posted an insane stat following the game…In their past 190 plate appearances, Bryce Harper, Mike Trout and Bumgarner all have 11 home runs. Maybe he should get a little more playing time.
"Bumgarner, Posey and Joe Panik hit two-run home runs in the fifth, and the big left-hander proved nearly untouchable while striking out 11 in 72/3 innings as the Giants split the four-game series. The two boys from the South said farewell to baseball in Fulton County with all the zeal of General Sherman.“That’s the best I felt all year,” Bumgarner said. “That was the first day in probably a year and a half it felt like I had it pretty much the way I wanted. I’ve been working on my delivery every day.”"
Jim Harbaugh wears Braves jersey to Atlanta camp
Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: Love him or hate him or don’t care about him…the Michigan Wolverines head football coach, Jim Harbaugh wore an Atlanta Braves jersey to a football camp in Atlanta. At this point, any fans are good fans in my opinion…except for the fans that just always bash on the Braves organization. I wonder how the Detroit Tigers fans look at this?
"Maybe it was an attempt to win over the locals? Not sure how Detroit Tiger fans will feel about that.Who knows? Maybe Harbaugh is a Braves fan. Prior to Thursday’s Cedar Grove prospect camp at Maynard Jackson High School, Harbaugh took pictures with Braves legend Hank Aaron."
