Braves Take Down Rivals, 4-3

Do you believe in miracles? Okay, maybe I shouldn’t have gone that far, but it was an impressive win on Thursday for the Atlanta Braves.  This game had everything you wanted…a free bobblehead, 12 hits, a homer, a coach tossed, and a comeback victory.

Braves starter Matt Wisler pitched through some early walks that could have cost him majorly.  He walked two in the 1st inning and the leadoff guy in the 2nd inning.  The Mets were able to get a run in the 2nd inning and one in the 3rd inning to go up 2-0 on the Braves.

A.J. Pierzynski answered in the bottom of the 4th inning when he singled in Nick Markakis.  Mets still up 2-1.

Mets add another run in the top of the 5th inning off Wisler.  Mets up 3-1.

Guess what?  Braves answer in the bottom of the 6th inning when Pierzynski doubled in Markakis.  A.J. is now 8-12 against Mets starter Matt Harvey.  Incredible.  Mets up 3-2

And now to why yal are probably here…In the bottom of the 7th inning with runners on second and third,

Ender Inciarte

hit a soft fly ball to left field.  An easy out for

Michael Conforto

in left, but

Emilio Bonifacio

was tagging from third.  As Conforto’s weight pulls him to the seats as he catches the fly ball, he throws a dart to home.  The ball one hops

Travis d’Arnaud

and he tags “out” Bonifacio.

The call on the field was Boni was out at home, but the Braves challenged the play.  After about five minutes (or it felt like it), the call stands.

Braves manager Brian Snitker loses his s*#*t and rightfully he should have.

Snicker runs out of the dugout kinda cool, but then turns it on after being ejected.

A bunch of finger flicks, a few choice words and a hat take off, Snitker walks back to the dugout in old Bobby Cox fashion.

Snitker may have had to watch the final two innings from inside the clubhouse, but this slide/call/ejection may have fired up the Braves!

To start off the bottom of the 8th inning, Freddie Freeman singled to right field.  Then Adonis Garcia blasted a ball to the left field bleachers!  This put the Braves up 4-3.

A crazy stat from David O’Brien – all four of Garcia’s home runs this season and nine of his 14 in his career, have been to either tie a game or put the Braves ahead in a game.  WOW

Braves closer Arodys Vizcaino comes in to close out the game in the 9th inning.  Though he did walk the leadoff guy, Vizzy was able to get the next three outs to end the game.
