Atlanta Braves Morning Chop: Looking at the Future
The Cleveland Indians gave Braves’ fans a look at the kind of team Atlanta might be in the process of assembling

Above all, though, this has been a steadily patient organization that has been built largely through pitching and the draft… and they are winning despite being down three outfielders at the moment.

That’s the team that beat up on the Braves last night for 14 hits and 8 runs while allowing only 8 and 3… on a night where Bauer wasn’t really on his game.
That kind of might is coming for Atlanta. It’s just over the horizon a bit.
The bad news from last night – aside from the 8-3 score – was that starter John Gant injured his left-side oblique. Oddly, this is on the opposite side from his pitching hand.
We will probably learn more today, but for a pitcher, that’s probably a minimum of two months away. So without setbacks, that regrettably might mean a cameo appearance or two in September.
