An Atlanta Braves’ All-Star Break diversion for those who have hopped onto the Pokémon GO craze that’s literally sweeping the world…and everyone else, too.

If your favorite Braves players were Pokémon, what would they be called and how would you find them?

Let’s have a little fun today on this All-Star week off-day.  This is a guide to help you this Summer in your pursuit of the Atlanta Braves Pokémon.

But do beware!  There are spoilers contained below!  That said, you may need this information to properly geo-locate to these rare creatures, since we have combed locations far and wide to find out these stats and combat traits.

Note that this is also not an all-inclusive list, so if YOU manage to find some additional Braves Pokémon, we hope you will share that information as well!

FREDDIE FREEMAN – FREDDIESTEEL (based on Registeel)

  • Type:  Steel (Rare)
  • Weight:   100 kg
  • Height:  6’5″
  • Combat Power:  ranges from 286 to 500
  • Where found:  Citi Field (damage boost available there). Southern California, Canada.  Also has been observed near confident-looking felines.
  • Abilities:   Scoop.  Special defensive ability – can often absorb incoming attacks, even if they bounce; Clear Body – prevents opponents from manipulating Freddisteel’s attack methods, which are spread across the battlefield.
  • Note:  If located, trainers will need to travel to the specific location to catch Freddiesteel, as this Pokémon does not range far from its home location.

TYLER FLOWERS – TYLADAM (based on Wormadam)

  • Type:  Bug/Grass (Uncommon)
  • Weight:  115 kg
  • Height:  3’4″ in natural crouched position
  • Combat Power:  253
  • Where found:  near restaurants, typically behind the plates
  • Abilities:   Anticipation (knows what’s coming before it happens), Overcoat (protection from weather)
  • Note:  has tendency to absorb a lot of damage and heal immediately.  Requires a tremendous attack to defeat.

JEFF FRANCOEUR – JEFFYFREE  (based on Butterfree)

  • Type:  Bug/Flying (Uncommon)
  • Weight:  100 kg
  • Height:  6’4″
  • Combat Power:  263
  • Where found:  In large, otherwise empty grassy areas
  • Abilities:   Compound Eyes (increases accuracy of attacks); Tinted Lens (a hidden ability that sometimes will power up otherwise ineffective moves)
  • Note:  Jeffyfree loves the honey of flowers and can launch an attack that connects to Flowers with a high degree of accuracy.

If spotted, capture quickly, for Jeffyfree is fast and will run – not walk – away.

AARON BLAIR – BLAAFY  (based on Flaaffy)

  • Type:  Electric (Uncommon)
  • Weight:  110 kg
  • Height:  6’5″
  • Combat Power:  94
  • Where found:  bare hilly areas devoid of trees or other vegetation
  • Abilities:   Static (electric paralysis); Plus (attacks can cause above average damage though at the risk of missing their target)
  • Note:  Blaffy is a starter Pokémon, but has shown to have had some difficulty when trying to evolve to the next level.

MAURICIO CABRERA – CABRELEON (based on Charmeleon)

Type:  Fire (Common)

Weight:  111 kg

Height:  6’3″

Combat Power:  103.5

Where found:  Often kept within fenced walls, but Cabreleon likes to escape these confines, so check backyards in your neighborhood.

  • Abilities:   Blaze (powers up fire-type moves in a pinch); Spray (Fires attacks in a wide spread over the battlefield).
  • Note:  Cabreleon’s attacks are intense, though can often be reflected by an opponent or even ignored as they sometimes miss their intended target.
  • Another evolution with an additional attack might improve on both of these shortcomings.  Will take quite a bit of Pokémon candy.

ENDER INCIARTE – ENDINCH (based on Trapinch)

    • Type:  Ground (Rare)
    • Weight:  111 kg
    • Height:  4’4″
    • Combat Power:  350 (distance from home plate)
    • Where found:  underground
    • Abilities:   Arena Trap (prevents opponents from fleeing via capture move), Sheer Force (ability to occasionally take over a battle by force of will)
    • Note:  Endinch is deceptively fast, often resulting in trainers having to review video just to see how fast.

Does not have the raw power of a Magitrout, but can be very close to that in short combat spurts.
