Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: Atlanta Braves and Manager Brian Snitker definitely got their money worth out of their bullpen on Saturday.  Snit used six bullpen arms in way to the loss against the Phillies.  Julio Teheran started the game for the Braves, but didn’t have hit best outing. He lasted only five innings, giving up five hits, three runs, one walk and had four strikeouts.  He was removed after throwing 86 pitches on an extremely hot day.  Braves totaled 14 hits on Saturday, but were only able to get five runs to cross the plate.  Check out our full recap of last night’s game.

MLB trade rumors: Yankees’ Brian McCann on drawing interest from Braves, Rangers

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: The seven time All-Star catcher is on the trading block and it sounds like two teams are interested – the Braves and the Rangers.  Rangers would make a lot more sense if the Yanks pulled off a deal, but what if Braves general manager John Coppolella can pull off something magical?  I really hope they wouldn’t give up much for McCann, because I’m not sure a 32-year-old catcher hitting .235 with 15 homers and 41 RBIs in 82 games is worthy of given up some top prospects.

"McCann’s take?“I really haven’t been paying attention to what’s gone on,” he said. “Listen, I’m trying to win baseball games. That’s all I’m worried about right now. Baseball’s hard enough, and you have to focus on playing and winning. What about Atlanta possibly wanting him back?“I don’t know,” McCann said. “I mean, I haven’t thought twice of it. I really haven’t.”"

Padres trade Kemp to Braves for Olivera

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: Great insight here from Dennis Lin – the twitter timeline we were all refreshing every couple of seconds yesterday – a Padres reporter.  Reports have been floating around that the Padres will release Hector Olivera pretty much once this deal went through.  I haven’t heard anything official yet, but it seems pretty likely that he will never play for the Padres. I can see Olivera not playing again in 2016, but some team signing him this offseason.  Kemp, I’m really excited for.  I would have never thought we’d see him in a Braves uniform.  Coppy yet again pulled off a trade to make us all continue to believe he’s a magician.

"Matt Kemp’s Padres career, which began with the hope of a new era, ended with a surprising exchange on Saturday. The Padres traded the right fielder and cash to the Atlanta Braves for infielder-outfielder Hector Olivera, who is currently serving an 82-game suspension for violating Major League Baseball’s domestic violence policy. The Padres, according to sources, will send the Braves $10.5 million for an approximate total savings of $32 million. Kemp is owed roughly $73 million through 2019, while Olivera is due around $30 million through 2020. The $10.5 million in the deal is from the $32 million the Padres received from the Los Angeles Dodgers when they acquired Kemp two winters ago.“Really what the deal stems to for us is, it’s … definitely a lot of flexibility to a point financially with the Braves where we felt like we can use that money down the road, re-allocate it to our big-league club, reallocate it potentially to the amateur market,” Padres General Manager A.J. Preller said."
