Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: The Atlanta Braves fought back on Friday night, but couldn’t close it out.  Atlanta scored two runs in the 6th, a run in the 7th and three more in the 8th to tie the game. With the game tied heading into the 9th inning, Jim Johnson came into the game.  He was able to get Bryce Harper to ground out to start the inning, but then a single to (future Brave) Wilson Ramos.  Jason Werth grounded out to third for two outs in the 9th.  But then, Johnson walked Anthony Rendon and gave up a single to Clint Robinson to score the winning run.  Dansby News: He went 2-4 at the plate with a run scored.  He got things going in the 8th inning with a leadoff double.  And then beat out a dribbler to shortstop in the 9th inning on a very close play.  He did have a throwing error, but did lay out to make a diving stop on a grounder up the middle and fired to first to take a hit away from Ben Revere.

Ben Revere, home run thief, strikes again in Atlanta

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: You’ve got to be freakin’ kidding me!  This hurt the Braves and my fantasy team!!  In the bottom of the 4th inning, Freddie Freeman hit a shot to right-center field.  The cameras show Ben Revere tracking, tracking, tracking, but no one had a clue what he was about to do next.  Revere became Superman and flew across the field.  This would have tied the game early, but nooo Revere had to ruin it for us.

"The deep blue walls at soon-to-be shuttered Turner Field are eight feet, four inches tall, all the way around, from the scoreboard display in the right field corner to the “home games remaining” countdown in left. Washington Nationals outfielder Ben Revere is listed at 5-foot-9, which must include his cleats, and perhaps a hat propped high. Media guides tend to be generous about things like that.So that Revere was able to reach over the top of that wall to steal what seemed to be a just-enough home run from Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman, then hang on to the ball as gravity pulled him those 8 feet back to earth, made his fourth-inning catch a marvel of physics and athleticism.“Kind of went back, looking up like oh, that’s probably a home run. Then getting closer like, I may have a chance at this. I may have a chance at this,” Revere said. “Then, oh. I had a chance.”"

Judge finds time to take a shot at the Braves during death penalty case

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: Yeah, yeah…rub it in all you can, while you can.  The Braves are getting better and will be great soon.  Atlanta has made a few moves to make this team exciting to watch again with the Matt Kemp trade and the Dansby Swanson call up, but we’ve been very patient for a while now.  The time is right around the corner and I think a lot of people feel this way.  Yes, we have the worst record in the league…yea, we may not be World Series Champs next year, but I think we can all see the Braves about to turn the corner.

Still, the awful record will always make for a punch line and it happened to the Braves in an odd place this week.

As a judge was telling alternate jurors during a death penalty case in Forsyth, Georgia that they were not to discuss the case amongst themselves, the following happened, according to Macon.com:

"“Again,” Wilson said, “you are not to discuss this case or talk about it whatsoever. Talk about … football if you so choose.”Then he paused, looked down at some paperwork, and added, “Not the Atlanta Braves.”Many in the courtroom gallery laughed."
