Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: Atlanta Braves starter Matt Wisler started the game very rocky on Friday night.  Wisler gave up a leadoff homer to Ian Kinsler, then a single to Cameron Maybin and another homer to Miguel Cabrera.  Down 3-0 before our offense even took a swing.  Braves only totaled six hits on Friday and scored only two runs…both runs came off two solo homers.  Braves are now 66-93 for the season as we are now fighting for that second pick in the 2017 draft.  For a full recap of the game, check ours out here.

Braves’ Tyrell Jenkins: Leaves with shoulder injury

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: After throwing a pitch in the top of the 8th inning to Miguel Cabrera, Tyrell Jenkins had to leave the game due to a shoulder injury.  The initial reports are that Jenkins left with a ulnar neuritis in the throwing arm.  He’s going for test and will be re-evaluated today to get the extent of the injury.  This means his 2016 season is over, but what a season he had.  The roller-coaster of starting, bullpen, starting, Triple-A, ATL, back and forth…and he never complained.  I’m a huge fan of Jenkins and hopefully this is just fatigue in the shoulder.  He needs to work on his other pitches this offseason so he can compete for either a rotation spot or bullpen in 2017.

"Jenkins left Friday’s game in the eighth inning with an apparent shoulder injury, MLB.com’s Mark Bowman reports.Jenkins slumped his shoulder after the pitch that led to him being taken out with the injury. He declined to comment on the injury after the game, but Bowman reported that Jenkins left after feeling some tingling in his arm/shoulder. It seems highly unlikely that he will pitch again this season."

Atlanta Braves Play Final Games At Turner Field This Weekend

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: We’ve got two games left, folks.  We won’t have that one last playoff run at Turner Field, but I will say these last two months have been fun to watch.  It’s encouraging to see how the Braves are playing as we finish off the 2016 season.  Many believed playoffs in 2017 was out of question, but I still think it’s possible.  A couple of free agent adds, like John Coppolella said they would, and we’ll be contenders next year.  The Washington Nationals better win their World Series because we’re coming for that top spot in the NL East!

"Turner Field has been the site of lots of baseball memories, as it hosted the National League Division Series 11 times, the National League Championship Series four times, the 1999 World Series and the 2000 Major League Baseball All-Star Game.Bud Gleason has lived in the Atlanta area for 50 years and says it’s impossible to pick a favorite moment at Turner Field:“I just enjoyed so many of them that it’s hard to compare apples and pears. They’re all good.”"

Braves Looking For 2017 Manager

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: So who will it be?  Does Brian Snitker get a shot at the role, do the Braves hire someone from within the organization or do they bring someone else in.  Blake wrote an article yesterday about the 2017 options, see what he had to say.  Snit has definitely turned this team around in the second half of 2016 and has made it enjoyable to watch games.  I still trust Coppy and the front office to make the right decision.
