In the last day or so, the question has come up about the future of Atlanta Braves TV broadcaster, Joe Simpson. Rest assured, he is not going anywhere.

Dear Braves Country, Joe Simpson is not retiring nor is he leaving the Atlanta Braves broadcast team on Fox Sports.

The dynamic duo of Chip Caray and Joe Simpson will be together to usher in the opening of SunTrust Park.

Why the confirmation and announcement?

Well, let’s go back to the final day of the season, shall we? I’m not sure why this has just now come up, but it has.

Alan, in post made the day after the season ended, mentioned it towards the end of his article.

The topic, occurring in the 8th inning of the last game, may have been misunderstood.

For some reason, all of a sudden, I’ve seen numerous questions as to Mr. Simpson’s status. We’d like to squash all the speculation now, with the help of Mr. Chip Caray.

It was brought up in the final broadcast of the season, that Joe Simpson was celebrating his 25th season in the booth, NOT retiring after 25 seasons in the booth.

Well, Braves Country, I’m happy to put your minds at ease. Joe Simpson is staying put.

Yes, I know, his tweet says “food”. I assure you, Chip meant “booth”.

Although, conversations in the booth tend to gravitate towards the fare at the park and when on the road, sampling some of the local cuisine.

Aside from the accidental typo, Chip clarified the conversation, putting to rest the confusion to Joe leaving.

Next: Snitker AND Washington?

Somehow, context was apparently lost in translation as many fans listening in, thought Simpson was actually leaving the booth or retiring.

So, everyone can breathe easy. Joe Simpson and Chip Caray will be there to welcome us all in to the SunTrust Park era.
