Trade for Jurickson Profar Makes Sense for Atlanta Braves

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: Saw this post and laughed…personally, I don’t see Atlanta Braves GM John Coppolella doing this deal.  Yes, Profar is still only 23-years-old and we’ve heard of the name for what seems like a decade, but he’s struggled at the plate during his time with the Texas Rangers.  The Braves have Sean Rodriguez and Jace Peterson set up to man the second base position until Ozzie Albies is ready…which should be this season.  We also have to remember Travis Demeritte who is another second base prospect growing in our minors.  Profar would likely cost the Braves a couple top prospects and I don’t think we do that.

"Besides Tampa Bay, Atlanta is a possible destination Profar, who is only 23 years old and under club control for three more seasons. Zachary D. Rymer of Bleacher Report believes that the Braves trading for Profar makes sense.Rymer pointed out that Profar fits in perfectly in the Braves infield consisting of Dansby Swanson and Freddie Freeman. Profar is an upgrade to second baseman Jace Peterson and third baseman Adonis Garcia. The Rangers are looking for a pitching prospect and Atlanta have a glut of them. The Braves can easily trade Sean Newcomb to the Rangers, per Rymer. The team has already brought several veterans this offseason like Bartolo Colon, R.A. Dickey, Matt Kemp, Sean Rodriguez and Kurt Suzuki. They might not be contenders, but they will surely compete in the upcoming season."

Atlanta Braves, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta will team to bring special activities to SunTrust Park

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: Kids running the bases is back!  The Braves announced that following Sunday games, kids will be able to run the bases.  First home game for the Braves is April 14!  Soon we’ll all be able to see what SunTrust Park has to offer firsthand.  If you’re too excited and can’t wait until then…go check out a college baseball game on May 7 as Georgia takes on Georgia Tech.  I’m excited about the brand new park, but after looking at the live feed it still has lots of work to do.

"A pact between the Atlanta Braves and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta will bring baseball-themed activities for children to the new SunTrust Park.According to a new release, a large kid-friendly area hosted by Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta will have the first-ever zip line and climbing tower inside a professional sporting venue.Visitors will be able to use the new Braves app to reserve a timeslot."

Red Sox, Braves Enjoy Entertaining Twitter ‘Beef’ Leading Up To Super Bowl LI

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: Does anyone else feel as though the Braves have one of the best social media teams in the MLB?  This exchange yesterday with the Boston Red Sox was amazing!  As we head into Super Bowl 51, the Atlanta Falcons will take on the New England Patriots.  The Pats have been there before, while the Falcons are red hot.  It should be a good game, but the lead into it has me laughing!  If you missed it, below are the tweets back and worth.

"The Braves started in Boston, but they’re Atlanta’s Major League Baseball team now. As a result, their rooting interest in Sunday’s Super Bowl LI at Houston’s NRG Stadium should be pretty obvious.Sorry, Boston Beaneaters fans."
