The Atlanta Braves unveiled the new hat the team will wear for 2017 Spring Training. It’s new, it’s fresh, and it’s flying off the virtual shelves.

The Atlanta Braves announced they will be wearing a new hat this year in Florida for Spring Training. The unveiling went out on all their social media pages.

The video, that was teased not too long ago, as a “Matt Kemp commercial”, ended up being a video shoot for the new unveiling.

Here is the video released by Braves PR staff today.

This cap is an addition to the already in use oversized “a” cap from last season. So, to be clear, both the new Tomahawk cap and old cap from a year ago will be used. This Tomahawk cap is an alternate (probably used on road Spring Training games is my guess, or on a certain day of the week).

Aside from the hat, there are few other tweaks to the Spring Training threads this year.

The return of the FL/AZ Interstate-like logo patch is back on the sleeve, just in a different color tone.

The numbers on the backs of the jersey’s are patterned with the logo of MLB’s Spring Training for both Florida and Arizona.

Also returning from last year is the baseball itself. The batterman logo is removed for the FL/AZ logo again.

The hat, as mentioned before, is already selling out online at the MLB Shop team stores. I checked earlier today, around 10:00 AM Eastern and the only size available was a size 8.

I don’t know too many people with that big of a melon. A recent check at the time of the writing of this came back with the same results. I’m sure they will get more in stock soon.

Aside from Atlanta wardrobe update, other teams introduced new lids as well. The Indians, Cubs, Mets, Yankees, Mariners, and Rays all got new lids.

Of the teams to get new hats, Atlanta is by far the best looking one. The Yankees have two new ones, but I hope they don’t wear the home version.

I think the Braves new hat is amazing and I can’t wait to add to the collection with this one. Let us know what you think. Is it awesome, meh, or are you even going to buy one?

There are other 2017 Spring Training goodies over at the Braves team store online, so you don’t have to get just a cap. But watch out for that $300 Freddie Freeman jersey.
