Julio Teheran went 6 innings of 3 hit baseball tonight. The Atlanta Braves, behind Teheran’s strong outing, won their second in a row in Miami, with a 3-1 victory.

82. 3. 17. Final. 1

It was a fairly quiet and quick night in Miami. Not a whole lot of scoring, but there was just enough for the good guys tonight.

Atlanta got on the board first in the 4th inning. Freddie Freeman began the inning with a fluky double to left. Marlins left fielder Marcel Ozuna had a hard time with the twilight sky and lost the baseball.

After a Matt Kemp groundout, Nick Markakis singled on a line drive to Ozuna and Freeman came home for the first run of the game.

Dansby Swanson pushed Markakis across the plate after a wild pitch from Edison Volquez put Markakis on 2nd base. Swanson roped a single to the gap and that made it 2-0 Braves in the 4th.

The Marlins got one back in the 7th when Justin Bour, who continues to just demolish Atlanta pitchers, sent a first-pitch fastball from Eric O’Flaherty far over the right field wall.

Atlanta added one more in the 8th. Another Freddie Freeman double set up the run. Matt Kemp followed with a screaming dribbler to third, that Derek Dietrich threw into the ground and got by first baseman Justin Bour.

Freeman came around on the error to score the 3rd run for the Braves on the night. That was all the Braves needed to secure their second straight win.

Julio picks up win number 3 on the season, Jim Johnson picks up save number 6, and Atlanta goes for a sweep of the Marlins tomorrow afternoon.

Next: Think You Know The Braves ... Try This

Knuckleballer R.A. Dickey (3-2, 4.29) goes for Atlanta, while Miami sends Justin Nicolino. This will be Nicolino’s first start of the year.

Atlanta clinches the series, but a sweep would be real nice before heading to Toronto.
