The Atlanta Braves along with Major League Baseball are bringing you a new way to view games on Friday Nights. How, you ask? Well, Facebook Live, of course!

On May 18th, 2017, MLB and Facebook joined forces to bring Major League action to you Facebook wall. On May 19th, the Reds and Rockies were the first MLB game to broadcast over Facebook Live.

Facebook will bring users 20 games this year, with the a fore mentioned Reds/Rockies being the first. Tonight, June 23, 2017, will be the second of those 20.

Tonight’s Atlanta Braves and Milwaukee Brewers tilt will be broadcast live over Facebook. So, if you can’t get to a TV, have no fear. As long as you have your phone and Facebook, you’re good to go.

Unfortunately, these live streams are only available in the United States. However, if successful, I’m sure the good folks at Facebook will be expanding.

The deal comes in as an effort to jump in on the live stream game while the getting is good, so to speak. With WNBA on Twitter, NFL on Amazon, Facebook jumped in on MLB.

In an article from Business Insider, there are a few things that brought this around.  However, the biggest things about the deal are that it’s re-imagining the game in a different light. You can read that article here.

This is, for all intents and purposes, Major League Baseball’s first ever attempt at live streaming outside of it’s own brand. That’s what also makes this a fairly big deal. Aside form their own MLB.tv, MLB has never tried anything like this.

So now, you have even more ways to watch and no excuse to miss something if you have to leave for an impromptu beer run … after Brian Snitker goes to the pen … after his starter only goes 6 strong innings … because you know, he has relievers, he absolutely has to use in EVERY game.

Ugh … I digress.
