After 7 innings, Dickey’s day was done. He was lifted for pinch hitter Lane Adams in the bottom half of the 7th.

Dickey ended his day giving up one run on 5 hits. He walked one and struckout 6. Aside from the 1st inning troubles, Dickey turned in back to back quality starts. He finished with 99 pitches, 71 for strikes.

The Braves were able to get Jace Peterson and Lane Adams on to start things off. However, the Braves came away empty against Brewer reliever, Josh Hader.

Jose Ramirez came on in the 8th, then walked the leadoff hitter. He got the next man he faced and was relieved in favor of the matchup. Brian Snitker brought in Sam Freeman to face lefty Eric Thames. Freeman struck Thames out swinging.

Freeman turned the Brewers away in the 8th, striking out the two batters he faced and stranding the lead off walk at 1st base.

Jim Johnson mounted the mound in the 9th and nailed down save 15. The Braves move to 36-38 on the year, 2 games under .500.

Next: Freeman, Third Base, and the Trade Market

The Braves look to sweep the series tomorrow. On the mound for Atlanta will be Julio Teheran (6-5, 4.76). He’ll face Brewers pitcher Zach Davies (7-4, 5.40).

With the win today, the Braves have won four consecutive series. Dating back to June 12-14 series against the Nationals.
