Dickey, Atlanta Braves bullpen rocked in loss to Diamondbacks
Not a whole lot went Atlanta’s way Monday night on either side of the ball as the team continued its west coast road trip.
It was a tough night for the Atlanta Braves (47-51) in a 10-2 road loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks (57-42), as veteran R.A. Dickey (L, 6-7) exited with two outs in the fourth inning.
Dickey gave up four runs on five hits, walking five. The knuckleballer also had four wild pitches on the night, and it didn’t get much better when the bullpen took over.
Atlanta’s offense cut the lead to 4-2, picking up a pair of runs in the top of the fifth inning on (notably) a Sean Rodriguez pinch hit homer that also scored Johan Camargo. The hope, however, wouldn’t last long as Matt Wisler gave up four runs in the bottom half of the sixth.

Ian Krol gave up along two runs in the seventh making the score 10-2, and neither team would plate another runner after that.
16 Atlanta players saw action in the loss, including six pitchers. For the offense, only five of those 16 batters recorded a hit.
As already mentioned, the lone offensive standouts for the Atlanta Braves were Sean Rodriguez, who went 1-for-1 with a home run and two RBI, and Johan Comargo, going 1-for-3 with a run.
Atlanta had no answer for Zack Greinke (W, 12-4) who improved to 10-0 in home starts with his win over the Braves Monday. He finished with two runs on five hits through eight innings, recording six strikeouts.
