With the MLB trade deadline approaching, there are several players for the Atlanta Braves who could be replaced in the next couple of weeks.

A lot of times we focus on who the Atlanta Braves could be bringing in before the trade deadline, but we don’t focus on who they could be replacing.

So basically, this article is to tell you which Atlanta Braves players could be replaced in the next couple of weeks.

Here is a list of players who I think are safe by position.

Starting Pitchers: Mike Soroka, Dallas Keuchel, and Julio Teheran.

The Atlanta Braves currently have just three starters on their roster, so clearly two spots are open.

I think they will try to fill those internally first with Kevin Gausman and Mike Foltynewicz, but they are not safe by any means.

Gausman will likely get a start on Sunday, and Folty could start on Wednesday. That likely gives them two starts with the big league club to prove they’ve turned things around before the trade deadline.

Bullpen: Anthony Swarzak, Luke Jackson, Jacob Webb, and Sean Newcomb.

I really think there are four players in the bullpen who could be replaced, but that most likely won’t happen through trade.

But, players like Max Fried could be moved to the bullpen to take up some of those spots.

Still, I think the Atlanta Braves need to fill two spots in the bullpen before the trade deadline.

Catchers: Brian McCann

This is kind of wishful thinking on my part, but I would love for the Atlanta Braves to replace Tyler Flowers at catcher.

There is almost no chance of that happening, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea to find some insurance there before the deadline even if they have to stash them in Triple-A.

Infielders: Freddie Freeman, Ozzie Albies, Dansby Swanson, and Josh Donaldson

Every infielder is safe. Unless an injury happens over the next couple of weeks, these guys are safe.

Outfielders: Ronald Acuna Jr.

This is where things get a little interesting for me. Honestly, anyone but Acuna is replaceable in the outfield.

Again, this is something that probably won’t happen. But if the Atlanta Braves are serious about winning this year, they could look to maybe upgrade an outfielder.

Nick Markakis is having a solid season, but he’s struggled more against lefties this year, and Brian Snitker hasn’t given him the time off like he said he would.

Austin Riley and Ender Inciarte are both question marks to me.

I don’t expect anything to happen here, but you never know.

Bench: Charlie Culberson

Once we need five starters again in our rotation, it could get very awkward on the bench.

Most likely, either Matt Joyce, Inciarte, or Johan Camargo will be the odd man out.

And in all honesty, it will probably come down to either Joyce or Camargo.

This is a situation where a player might not be replaced because of a trade, but just because it’s crowded.

Our bench is much deeper than it was a year ago, so I really don’t see us making a move for a bench player. Especially if we keep Inciarte as he gives us speed and defense off the bench.

Next. A family reunion. dark

A lot players for the Atlanta Braves could have an uncomfortable next couple of weeks as they play to keep their current roles and not be traded or demoted.
