Braves Provide Offense Finally For Tommy Hanson’s First Win

Tommy Hanson got his first win of the season against the San Diego Padres thanks to some offense that has been missing the past few games.

Troy Glaus hit his first home run of the season on a 2-4, 4 RBI night. The Atlanta Braves are counting on Glaus to hit well over 20 home runs this year but he hasn’t shown power even close to that yet.

Brian McCann also continues his hot streak with two hits.

The Braves won the game 6-1 to bring them to 4-4 for the season. The rubber game is tomorrow at 6 pm.

Hanson had seven strike outs on four hits against the Padres. He looked very good on the mound.

Martin Prado finally showed he is human. He’s hitting .484, and although he had a hit today, he struck out twice in a 1-4 performance. Prado still has been an unsung hero in this young season and I expect great things from him during his entire career with the Braves.

After a day’s rest since the Padres massacre of the Braves on Monday, things leveled out tonight. Jo-Jo Reyes, who gave up nine runs in that Monday Massacre, landed on the disabled list today. This likely spells the end of Reyes career with the Braves. If it doesn’t then I must be going crazy.

What seems to be a reoccurring problem for the Braves is the spotty defense. Rookie Jason Heyward, who is batting .267 with a hit today, has had two poor throws to home. He has nowhere near the arm that Jeff Francuoer had.

The Braves had numerous errors in today’s game, too. Luckily, the Padres had more errors.
