Into the Abyss

I hope everyone had a good Turkey day and a subtle return to the “real world” on this Monday. I know that since I entered the working world, the Monday following Thanksgiving has always been one of my least favorite days of the year to return to work. I struggle to find productivity, and I appreciate my company going light on meetings to let us ease back into things on the rare occasion that they’ve done that.

There’s not a ton going on in the baseball world right now. There’s even less going on in the Braves-sphere, unless you have an interest in reading about Tim Hudson’s back surgery.

The closer I have followed baseball off-seasons, the more I’ve realized that this is the dead period in the baseball calendar year. It’s going to remain that way until the winter meetings. You’ll hear rumors of certain complimentary roster pieces being dangled, only to inevitably be kept by their respective team like they’re honestly a valuable piece. These guys aren’t difference makers. They’re Grabowski’s. But GM’s around baseball will be coy and play their best game of chicken with each other until that December  winter meetings date.

Hold tight and ease back into your weekly work schedule. We’ve got some good stuff planned right around the corner.
