Caribbean baseball’s opening day for the Dominican Winter League was on October 18th this year and now we’ve played through the DWL All Star Game.  The All Star Game will be played on Sunday December 8th.  As they break, I wanted to give an update on how Atlanta Braves outfielder Joey Terdoslavich was doing down south.

Joey’s team Toros del Este are 15-23, nine games behind first place Aguilas Cibaenas and in second to last out of the six team league.  Since joining the team, Terdo has helped improve Toros.  In the 13 games Joey has played in, Toros are 7-6.

Terdo is carrying a .304 batting average into the break with an on base percentage of .365 and a .522 slugging percentage.  In 46 at bats in 13 games, Joey has 14 hits, three doubles, two triples and a home run.

He’s touched home plate seven times and had drove in six runners.  It seems he’s being more aggressive in this league as he isn’t taking many walks, only five.  He has also struck out 10 times.  This is pretty similar stats to his 2013 Gwinnett year as he had 23 walks compared to 65 strikeouts.

Joey seems to be playing well in the Dominican and from this twitter feed it seems like he’s enjoying the weather and getting some golf in.  Some tweets seem he’s having a great time, other tweets sound like he wants to be back in the states (which is understandably).  Hopefully the Braves aren’t forcing him to stay down there because of some “plan” that Frank Wren has.  I was bored on a Saturday morning so I read his entire feed and wanted to share some of his tweets from the last month or so.
