According to a report by Atlanta Braves’ reporter Mark Bowman, Hank Aaron slipped on some ice in the recent storm that blanketed Atlanta, and had to have a partial hip replacement surgery yesterday.

According to Bowman, the Atlanta Braves announced that Hank will need approximately 8 weeks recovery time from the surgery, which was performed in Atlanta by a Dr. Scott Gillogly.

You will recall that Hank recently celebrated his 80th birthday, and we reported that the Atlanta Braves will honor Hammerin’ Hank this coming season by sporting a patch to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Hank’s legendary 715th home run!

Atlanta Braves president John Schuerholz, asked about Hank’s fall and surgery, said…

"“The entire Atlanta Braves organization has Hank in our thoughts and prayers, and [wishes] him a complete and speedy recovery”."

I know I speak for fans everywhere, as well as our staff at Tomahawk Take, when I say we wish Mr. Aaron a speedy and problem-free recovery!  We love you, Hank!
